Reflection
Pros
When looking at social media and the impact that it has on consumers--especially in regards to food culture--there are many positive aspects. First, it allows people to experience different cultures and cuisines, allowing them to transform into more ethical leaders and global citizens who are empathetic towards people that are different than them. Second, it diversifies the food pallet of an individual. Food is something that connects everyone on Earth; diversity regarding food could soon transform into diversity regarding culture or work environments. Next, social media is a tool that can be used to bring equity among individuals who may not have access to family traditions or other avenues to learn about food, culture, and heritage.

Cons
While there are many positive aspects of social media as a tool to increase invented food traditions, there are also associated harms. While diversity and inclusion are increased, sometimes the necessary culture context is lost on social media platforms. Across the world, there are some meals that relate to closed cultural or religious practices; while food, in general, is something that transcends nations, engaging in cultural practices with the context can be disrespectful and seen as cultural appropriation.
